postcards from the edge

I snapped this picture for instagram earlier today. It was this morning, in front of our rent house as we were getting ready to head over to the French Quarter. Most fun ever right?

Wrong.

The absurdity of the instagram post hit me approximately two hours later. As we were walking ... speed walking ... practically running back to the car from Jackson Square. My eldest son riding reluctantly in the umbrella stroller we brought for his brother. Pants wet after he managed to soak them with pee while standing at the urinal. My youngest son strapped to my body in the ergo as I held an iPhone playing Yo Gabba Gabba songs up to his ear. (The only thing keeping him from screaming.)

The take away from this my angels? Don't believe everything you see on the internet. This quote is absolutely true. My life isn't perfect ... and neither is yours. Even on vacation.

We're all in this together. Hang in there my dears. Now we nap!
